  1. Create a web site if you do not have one.  If you have a web site create a page on which to store the work you do this term.

  2. IF you do not have a web site , or you want another just for this class:

  3. Go to tripod.com

    Complete the Membership form.
Select a memorable Member name (make this something you really like since this  is ONLY thing you cannot change.
Your site will be located at http://WhateverMemberNameYouChoose.tripod.com. Remember there are lots and lots of folk worldwide who use this free service so "Jane" and "SexyGal" are probably taken as Member names.

Select a password that you will remember (use the same one you use to log on to UCC, S0nnnn, for simplicity.

I would uncheck most of the check boxes because I get more than my share of unsolicited (junk) mail (spam). Your choice.

Once everything is ok, Tripod will thank you for joining.  From that page choose
     site builder
    SITE BUILDER

Then choose Start with an Express Site wizard

Click on the About Me   Choose, unless one of the other choices is more appealing.

Make any choices you want because they all can (and will) be changed.

    Choose Edit Site

Try every one of the icons to change the page or add new page:

To delete pages or reorder them use the icons to the right:

Try things, you can always delete them and nothing is permanent.

Preview your work and remember to ask for Help .

When Add Text, Picture, Link, Web Gem icons are selected SiteBuilder will first ask you where on the page you wish to put the new text, link or special feature.  Make a choice, you can always move it.

When you choose Add Text, compose your words using a word processor such as MS Word so you can use the spelling checker and the thesaurus.  Then drag and drop (or cut and paste) them into the text box.
Your site will not be available to the world until you publish it.  Publish it early and often.  The first time you select Publish, you choose for a category for the site, what you choose is not important and can, like everything, else be changed.
