Computer Art (A 75)
Exercise Using PSP8 Shapes

1. If you haven't already, Download Paint Shop Pro

2. Open up PSP 98 (Paint Shop Pro 8) either from the icon on the desktop or via the Start programs Jack Software folder.

3. Take the Product Tour of Painting and Drawing
   Play the movies for:

   • Preset Shapes

4. Don't close the movie window!

5. Select a Foreground and Background color, Gradient/Style or Pattern.
6. Create a new 600 by 600 image or use a in image like you paint brush PSP drawing.
7. Select a Preset Shape tool (on a Vector layer) and draw a shape
8. Change its characteristics (remember you can always undo)
   • make it bigger,
   • move it
   • rotate it
   • change the inside and line color
   • move it around
9. Repeat step 8 and 9at least 4 or 5 times selecting a different shape each time - Get ideas from Help and the Product Tour
10. Go back to earlier shape and change its properties (use layer palette to select)
11. Select them several using the Object Selection tool (arrow on bottom) and modify position
12. move some so they overlap
13. arrange them in a different stacking order by right clicking and selecting Arrange

14. Save the fixed image as a PSP file so you can go back letter and improve it.

15. Save as a JPG

16. Upload the JPG to your web site.
